Peterson farm bill meetings

Collin talked to the Red River Farm Network at his Crookston Farm Bill meeting and said that progress is being made. From RRFN: Peterson told the group he hopes to have the Farm Bill done by the August recess. “The Senate apparently is going to take it up the 5th of June on the floor, and we’re set to mark up the 18th of June and so if that all happens, we have to go to the floor in the House," said Peterson, "This bill is not going to take long to conference; we’ve got all the language done."

Peterson Statement on House Reconciliation Act

“Everything must be on the table if we are going to have a serious conversation about getting our budget under control. Refusing to consider large budget items like defense and choosing instead to slash nutrition programs that feed millions of hard-working families is not the way to balance our budget. Since we know this isn't going anywhere the only thing that will likely come out of this vote is an even more divided Congress."
