ST. CLOUD, MN -- Congressman Collin C. Peterson (DFL-7th District) this week received the Friend of Farm Bureau award from Minnesota Farm Bureau President Al Christopherson. This is the first time the Farm Bureau has ever given this award.
“It is an honor to be among the first Members of Congress to receive this award,” Peterson said. “Anyone who knows me, or knows of the work I have done in Congress, knows that agriculture issues have always been a top priority for me.”
The Friend of Farm Bureau award is based on 33 votes from this Congress. In addition, Members who met the minimum vote requirements still had to be nominated for the award by their State Farm Bureau. The nomination then had to be approved by the American Farm Bureau.
“At a time of change and opportunity, I look forward to working with the Minnesota Farm Bureau to address the many challenges facing American agriculture,” Peterson concluded.
