MOORHEAD, MN -- Congressman G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery (D-MS), Ranking Minority Member on the Veterans Affairs Committee, will join Congressman Collin C. Peterson (DFL-7th District) at the Veterans Forum being held at the Moorhead VFW post on Monday, August 28th.
"Representative Montgomery and I are looking forward to this opportunity to meet with Minnesota's veterans and to hear their concerns," Peterson said. "With cuts being proposed for nearly all programs supported by the federal budget, it's more important than ever for Congress to honor the promises that were made to our nation's veterans.
"It's an honor to have the former Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee come to Moorhead," Peterson said. "I hope our veterans will take this opportunity to meet Congressman Montgomery and to share their concerns about the future of veteran's programs."
The Veterans Forum will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until 12:00 noon, Monday, August 28th. It will be held at the Moorhead VFW post, 2201 First Avenue North.
