SEBEKA TEACHER NAMED TEACHER OF THE YEAR
BY THE COUNCIL FOR LEARNING DISABILITIES
WASHINGTON, DC - Barbara Carlson of Nevis, Minnesota was recently named a Teacher of the Year by the Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD). She received her award at the 19th International Council for Learning Disability Conference in Crystal City, Virginia last month.
"Barbara Carlson has been teaching special education for over 22 years. According to the CLD, she is the epitome of the 'resource teacher'," Congressman Collin C. Peterson (DFL-7th District) said. "She shares her expertise with disabled students and their parents, and like good teachers everywhere, adds to the quality of life in her community."
Barbara Carlson is licensed in learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, mild mentally impaired, physical/other health impaired, and vocational special needs. She teaches at Independent School District 820 in Sebeka.
The Council for Learning Disabilities has been active since 1983 to promote educational practices for students and adults with learning disabilities.
