WASHINGTON, DC -- Congressman Collin C. Peterson (DFL-7th District) today announced that the Federal Highway Administration has awarded a $12.2 million grant to the Minnesota Department of Transportation to repair damages to Federal-aid highways caused by the flooding in mid-March. Seventeen counties in the 7th District will benefit from this grant.
"I am pleased that the United States Department of Transportation is providing these funds to Minnesota," Peterson said. "In the 7th Congressional District, there are still many highways that need to be repaired as a result of the Flood of '97."
The exact amount going to each county has not been disclosed. The 7th District counties receiving funds are Becker, Beltrami, Benton, Clay, Clearwater, Grant, Kittson, Marshall, Morrison, Norman, Otter Tail, Pennington, Polk, Roseau, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin.
