NORTHWESTERN MINNESOTA COMMUNITIES AWARDED HUD GRANTS
WASHINGTON, DC The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Wednesday announced $3.3 million in grants to 35 communities and counties in Minnesotas Seventh Congressional District.
Congressman Collin C. Peterson (D-Minn) praised the grants issued from HUDs Comprehensive Improvement Assistance Program (CIAP) that allows the local housing authorities to fund operations or to make necessary improvements to facilities.
Housing in our rural communities continues to be one of my greatest concerns, Peterson said. These grants will go a long way toward maintaining and improving our housing stock.
