PETERSON ANNOUNCES PRESIDENTIAL
DISASTER DECLARATION
Major Disaster Declared For The Counties
Of
Becker, Clay, Norman And Mahnomen,
And The White Earth Indian Reservation
(WASHINGTON, D.C.)

Peterson (DFL-MN 7th District) today announced a Presidential Disaster
Declaration has been approved for Becker, Clay, Norman and Mahnomen counties
and the White Earth Indian Reservation.
Peterson said that as
a result of this declaration, federal funds are now available to repair or
replace public facilities that were damaged during the June 19th storms.
Individual assistance is also available for families and individuals
affected by flooding, including temporary housing, home repair, rental
assistance, grants or loans, and crisis counseling.

Agency (FEMA) at 1-800-462-9029.
“I spoke with
Director Witt yesterday, and I would like to thank him for FEMA’s quick
response to the request,” said Peterson.
“Governor Ventura got right on this situation, and I appreciate his
help getting this process underway.”
