PETERSON SAYS PROPOSED VA BUDGET A GOOD START
WASHINGTON, DC After reviewing President Clintons proposed budget for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Congressman Collin C. Peterson (DFL-7th District) is pleased to see a funding increase in veterans medical care.
The Clinton Administration budget is requesting a $1.5 billion increase for veterans programs, including $22.4 million for health care programs.
Also included in the budget is nearly $1 billion to improve delivery of compensation, housing, education, and pension benefits to veterans. This added funding will speed up claims processing something veterans have been requesting for a long time, Peterson said.
