Thief River Falls Regional Airport awarded 

$895,500 for construction

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Congressman Collin C. Peterson (D-7th District) announced that the City of Thief River Falls has been awarded $895,500 for their regional airport.

The grant will provide federal funding for the second phase of construction on a paved crosswind runway and a parallel taxiway, and for an emergency power generator.

“This is great news for the Thief River Falls area and for all those who use the airport,” Peterson said. “This construction is needed at the airport to help keep aviation safe.”

Construction of the runway and taxiway are necessary to allow continued use of the airport during adverse wind conditions, and the generator will assure that there is critical lighting during a power disruption.
