Former Rep. Ness to work for Peterson
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Congressman Collin C. Peterson (D-7th District) is pleased to announce that former State Rep. Bob Ness of Dassel has been hired to work in the field as a staff assistant.
Ness, also a former superintendent of schools in Detroit Lakes and Dassel, will attend meetings and serve constituents in the southeastern part of Minnesota’s Seventh District, including Meeker, Sibley, Redwood and McLeod counties.
“With Bob’s background in education and agriculture, he will be a great asset to our staff and to the constituents of my district,” Peterson said.
Ness chaired the Agriculture and Rural Development Finance committee while he served in the Minnesota House.
“I first got to know Bob when he was superintendent in Detroit Lakes from 1978 to 1986, and we were neighbors on Floyd Lake,” Peterson said. “We’ve known each other on a personal and professional level for many years, and with his work in the field, he will help to make sure people have direct access to me.”
As a state representative, Ness enjoyed helping constituents work through bureaucracy and government agencies.
“I’m happy to be continuing in public service,” Ness said. “I’m looking forward to serving Congressman Peterson and his constituents in any way I can.”
