(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - U.S. Rep. Collin C. Peterson (D-Minn) is one of 74 members of Congress to receive a Congressional Partnership Award from the National Association of Development Organizations for his work in promoting economic development issues in his district.
“Economic development has been a priority of mine since taking office,” Peterson said. “My staff has been working with communities, businesses and individuals as they look to improve and expand opportunities in this rural part of the state.”
NADO President Gary Gorshing said, “Rep. Peterson is a true leader who has displayed an unwavering commitment to providing economic opportunities in our nation’s small towns and rural communities. Most importantly, Rep. Peterson understands that federal programs for basic infrastructure development, small business development and comprehensive planning are essential for the long-term sustainability of our local communities.”
NADO provides training, information and representation for regional planning and development organizations serving small metropolitan and rural America.
