Peterson has surgery
(WASHINGTON, DC) - Minnesota
Congressman Collin Peterson (DFL-7th District) is resting
comfortably following surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital in
Maryland following a successful partial colectomy to remove a mass in his
sigmoid colon. There were no
complications and Peterson is in good spirits.
His physician, Dr. John DeNobile,
expects a full and complete recovery. DeNobile
is chairman of surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital.
Peterson
underwent his surgery after a mass suspicious for adeno carcinoma was discovered
during a routine screening colonoscopy. Final
pathology results are pending.
Peterson is expected to be in the hospital for a week while the House of Representatives is recessed for the President’s Day District Work Period. He will be looking forward to resuming his regular workload when Congress reconvenes later this month.
