National Ground Water Awareness Week 2012

Start: March 11, 2012
End: March 17, 2012
Mar 7, 2012

Who should be “aware” of groundwater? Quite simply, everyone.

Groundwater is essential to the health and well-being of humanity and the environment. Whether you’re on a public water system or a private well, whether you are a health care official, policymaker, regulator, or someone interested in water resources or the environment in general — groundwater awareness is important to you.

You can find more information on groundwater and water well stewardship by going to NGWA's Web site for well owners, www.wellowner.org.

The National Ground Water Association recommends routine annual well maintenance checks to ensure proper operation of the well and prolong its years of service. NGWA also recommends well water be tested annually or anytime there is a change in taste, odor, or appearance, or anytime the system is serviced.
