WASHINGTON (April 23, 2019) – On Thursday,  House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson (D-MN), Reps. Antonio Delgado (D-N.Y.) Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI.), TJ Cox (D-CA.), Kelly Armstrong (R-N.D.) and Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.), introduced the bipartisan Family Farmer Relief Act of 2019, legislation that would ease the process of reorganizing debt through Chapter 12 bankruptcy rules. The restructuring of the rules to make more farms eligible comes as agriculture producers face depressed commodity prices and ongoing trade disruptions.
