Klobuchar, Franken, Peterson Announce Over $170,000 for Infrastructure Improvements at Winsted Municipal Airport
U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, along with Representative Collin Peterson, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Winsted Municipal Airport a grant of $171,000 for infrastructure improvements.
“The funds from this grant will help the Winsted Municipal Airport make critical investments in its infrastructure,” Klobuchar said. “Infrastructure improvement projects like this one will boost airport performance and enhance safety.”
“This grant is very important for Winsted Municipal Airport, and it will help strengthen the regional economy,” Franken said. “I’m glad that the Department of Transportation is making this smart investment, and I will continue to press for similar improvements to infrastructure across Minnesota.”
“Strong, local airports are important to our region’s economy,” Peterson said. “Through this grant, Winsted Municipal Airport can begin looking at ways to improve the airport’s infrastructure and meet the area’s transportation needs.”
This grant will allow the airport to conduct a study on the impact of paving the runway.
